Job Summary: The Associate Vice Provost assists the Provost and Vice Provost in achieving the university's central academic mission while overseeing the following divisional activities: (a) curriculum changes, (b) development and maintenance of MOUs for academic partnerships, (b) Registrar's office, and (c) Dual Enrollment and J-STEAM. The Associate Vice Provost also serves on the Provost's Council and Core Team and chairs the undergraduate curriculum committee.
Duties and Responsibilities: Assists with implementation of the Provost's vision and strategic planning for the division of academic affairs. Assists the Vice Provost and Provost in establishing and meeting University and Division goals and objectives. Analyzes Academic Affairs data and prepares reports regarding financial, academic, student services, faculty workloads, faculty accomplishments, etc. Assists the Division of Academic Affairs with Program Review. Assists the Division with accreditation responsibilities, including the University's regional accreditation, including preparation of reports, review/revisions of unit reports, assisting departments with preparations for accreditation visits, and reviewing and editing responses to accreditors' requests. Supports and tracks assessment activities of departments and the division, in conjunction with Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Services. Assists the Provost and Vice Provost with ACHE requirements, including work with schools and departments for NISPs, program proposals, and reports. Manages the grant process for the Division, including assistance and support to faculty and staff pursing grant funding (external and internal), providing approvals, and data-basing of grant applications Oversees the Division's undergraduate curriculum change process, working with the chair of the University Undergraduate Curriculum Committee and the Registrar's office. Assists the Provost with fundraising efforts for the Division. Leads new projects and program development for the Division. Serves in the absence of the Vice Provost or Provost, as needed. Serves on University committees and task forces as appointed. Performs other duties as assigned by the Provost or Vice Provost. Required Minimum Qualifications: Terminal degree required. Three (3) or more years of administrative experience at the department chair or equivalent level or above required.
