Associate Teacher For Humanities
Company:

Seattle Academy Of Arts And Sciences

Details of the offer

We are considering applications for an Associate teacher who will teach courses in our  English and/or  History departments. Ideal candidates will have background in a relevant discipline and interest in teaching in both middle and upper school divisions.
What is the Associate Teacher Program at Seattle Academy? The associate program is a two-year experience designed for those new to the profession to gain experience through targeted professional learning as a cohort. Associates are also teachers of independently taught courses but intentionally staffed with less than a full course load to provide opportunity to learn and apply best teaching practices in a specific discipline.
Associate teachers will be asked to engage in work, including reading, lesson plan and assessment design, observation of master teachers and reflection exercises, to learn more about principles and practices of teaching and learning supported by educational research and reflective of our mission.  Associate teachers also participate in all facets of school life: As advisors, trip and retreat leaders, club and activity supervisors, and colleagues within a professional learning community.
We will consider hiring associates for any of our subject areas determined by the staffing priorities for that year. Review the  Seattle Academy Faculty Salary Structure for a starting salary range.
