Position Description The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine is hiring a pediatric neurologist specializing in mitochondrial disorders to join the Program for Mitochondrial Medicine and Metabolism in the Division of Pediatric Neurology. This program combines expert clinical care and clinical research based at Seattle Children's Hospital with pre-clinical research based at Seattle Children's Research Institute. This is a full-time, 12-month service period appointment (July 1 - June 30), at the Associate Professor rank (without tenure), but candidates with exceptional qualifications may be considered for appointment at the rank of or Professor (without tenure), commensurate with experience.This position will require active participation in, and leadership of, clinical and teaching programs. University of Washington faculty engages in teaching, research, and service.
The base salary range for this position will be $16,564 - $18,417 per month ($198,768 to $221,004 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.
The anticipated start date of this appointment is December 1, 2023.
Qualifications This position will require to have strong clinical skills in general pediatric neurology, expertise in the diagnosis and management of mitochondrial disorders, and clinical trial recruitment and management.
Requirements include MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree, eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington, and certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Neurology with a Special Qualification in Child Neurology.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
