Details of the offer

Join a national nonprofit on a mission to create pathways to family-sustaining careers for Americans stuck in low-wage work. We develop fast, flexible training solutions built for working adults, combining flexible online learning with best-in-class coaching. Our programs are designed to equip learners with in-demand, high-paying tech skills, and we work closely with a wide range of local and national employers to place our graduates into higher-earning, family-sustaining jobs.
Role Overview:
The Events Associate plays a vital role in fostering a supportive and engaging community for our learners throughout their journey with us. This position is ideal for someone passionate about developing meaningful connections that lead to increased participation and learner success. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication and networking skills, strong organizational and project management abilities, a knack for finding innovative ways to connect people and ideas, and a commitment to promoting equity and inclusion.
As the Events Associate, you will be responsible for developing strategies and events that create a welcoming and equitable learner community, ensuring a smooth transition to their new careers. You will report directly to the Manager, Learner Services & Community, and work closely with the Program Team while frequently collaborating with the Growth and Sustainability teams.
Responsibilities:
Event Planning and Execution (50%)
- Host live events, including short presentations, managing Zoom breakout rooms, and providing communication support on the event day.
- Assist with organizing event details, such as communicating with external or internal guests, volunteers, learners, and alumni.
- Assist with scheduling, planning, and executing events aimed at supporting learners' skill development and community building (e.g., program webinars, kickoffs, mock interviews, alumni panels, recruiter Q&As, guest speakers, networking, and graduation events).
- Manage event-related inboxes, calendars, meeting invites, spreadsheets, and folders (Google Workspace).
- Lead pre-, day-of, and post-logistics for events across multiple regions and teams.
- Track and report data related to program event attendance to gauge community engagement and program success rates.
Communication & Operations (30%)
- Ensure that learners experience top-notch communication and service as they progress through our intensive training programs.
- Compose high-quality and engaging written email content.
- Maintain and update our database via Mailchimp with new volunteer, learner, and other relevant details.
- Assist in creating marketing materials (decks, social media posts, copywriting, etc.).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in Salesforce in partnership with the program team, including preferred event and volunteer information.
Outreach & Recruitment (20%)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for internal staff and learner inquiries related to events.
- Facilitate virtual information sessions to train staff and volunteers for events.
- Create and track email recruitment campaigns through Mailchimp and Salesforce.
- Identify opportunities for volunteer and staff involvement within our programming.
- Assist in event growth through research, recruitment, engagement, and retention via proactive networking, follow-up, and communication.
