PSE's Energy Supply Merchant team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open  Associate Energy Trader  position!

Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.
Job Description Responsible for assisting Power & Gas Supply Operations group in researching commercial issues and market proposals that impact PSE's wholesale commodity hedging and operations functions. Prepares various reports and performs analyses at the request of the management team. Provides technical and analytic support to the group to support regulatory initiatives, accounting oversight, etc. Supports Director in liaison initiatives between trading group and other PSE functions with respect to hedging programs, regulatory initiatives and regional energy market developments.
This position works a rotating 12-hour shift, both nights and days to provide trading coverage on a 7/24/365-day basis.
Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE's operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

Job Responsibilities Analyzes and assesses regional power and regional, national and global natural gas markets. Supports traders and schedulers in acquiring short-term transmission capacity. Analyzes various third-party transmission and exchange agreements and make recommendation to management. Helps manage planned or unplanned transmission outages. Represents trading group in various internal initiatives (Least Cost Plan, Resource Integration, Resource Acquisition, etc). Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree with a technical or commercial focus from an accredited 4-year college or university, or equivalent experience. Strong analytic and research skills. A basic knowledge of finacial and accounting principals. Good organizational and communication skills. Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Advanced spreadsheet and database computer skills. Desired Qualifications Knowledge of Pacific Northwest regional transmission system.  Knowledge of Western Systems Power Pool (WSPP) agreement. The pay range for this position is $69,600.00 - $108,100.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
