Associate Director of Athletics Belmont Day School seeks a teacher and coach to serve as an integral member of the physical education and athletics department by supporting the school's comprehensive pre-kindergarten through grade eight program. A qualified candidate will possess a joy for teaching and will promote a physically active and healthy lifestyle in elementary and middle school students' lives. This is a part-time (20 hours per week), ten-month, exempt and benefit-eligible position, This person reports to the Director of Athletics and the role begins August 26, 2024. This position is not eligible for employer-sponsored relocation.
Responsibilities: Teach physical education in grade five Coach a middle school athletic team all three seasons Manage all aspects of team equipment, game uniforms, and athlete nutrition Provide administrative leadership for game day logistics of athletics program Commit to fostering a diverse community in and out of the classroom Demonstrate instructional excellence by knowing students and adapting curriculum Remain current with best practices for the developmental needs of children and adolescents Embrace the school's six core values and become a contributing member of the school community Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience teaching physical education preferred. Experience coaching youth sports required. Excellent communication skills (verbal / written) and organizational skills.
