72946The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial' s commitment to creating technically proficient, well-rounded actuaries capable of leadership, technical and managerial roles throughout the company. As an ADP participant, you'll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed. The Actuarial Development Program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months. Rotational roles are available in different business areas including Life and Annuities, Retirement and Group Protection. Rotational roles also span all actuarial functions including Product Development, Pricing, Reinsurance, Inforce Management, Valuation, Financial Projections, Risk Management, Financial Planning& Analysis, Financial Strategy & Management, Appointed Actuary, Experience Studies, Modeling and Data Analytics & Actuarial Transformation.ADP participants are required to pass the Society of Actuaries' exams at a prescribed pace. The Role at a GlanceAs an Associate Actuary, you will be assigned to one of Lincoln's Actuarial departments where you will play an integral role in the function of supporting the company's actuarial responsibilities across multiple lines of business, delivering insightful, value-add, actionable analytics and governance to drive business results. Throughout the rotational process, participants are strategically rotated to a wide range of positions, providing experience in three key areas: Product & Pricing, Financial, and Technical. In addition, participants are provided opportunities to gain exposure to multiple lines of business, as well as both group and individual insurance. Participants are placed into positions based upon what skills they can offer the position as well as what experiences the position can offer them. It is a collaborative process between the program leaders (actuaries), managers, and participants. Lincoln's actuarial leadership plays an active role in developing the ADP participants.In any actuarial rotational role that you would be placed in, you could be responsible for a variety of tasks and learning opportunities such as:Developing a new insurance product or re-pricing an existing product based on customer needs
Perform pricing analysis using internally developed software, and analyze the pricing results for new/redesigned annuity contract and rider benefits
Conducting asset adequacy and cash flow testing using actuarial software
Creating monthly, quarterly, and annual reserves and financial statements
Developing and analyzing business models to analyze portfolio holdings
Work across the enterprise to gather, validate, and analyze statutory reserves and capital for all holding company entities as part of an emerging international capital framework
Improve efficiency of technological tools used for asset adequacy testing and statutory reporting (Dataiku)
Build on existing automation efforts with Dataiku and Tableau to increase efficiency, gain insight into the analysis of results, reduce the potential for error, and improve presentation of results
Maintain existing actuarial models/tools, assist with mechanical and conceptual troubleshooting
Work with actuarial and data science software and technologies including MG-ALFA, Prophet, Dataiku, R, and Tableau
Develop, expand, and maintain validation tools such as external spreadsheets used to verify model results. Create and maintain proper documentation of model changes.
Perform dynamic validation and analyze actual against modeled assumptions
Partnering with various teams to understand risks posed by new products and developing recommended approaches to reflect risk
Presenting to actuarial and non-actuarial leaders within assumption review committee meetings
What you'll be doingSupport the group's actuarial initiatives and on-going business needs
Complete assigned projects with impactful outputs
Build relationships across different business units and actuarial functions
Collaborate with actuarial team members
Receive coaching and mentorship from senior actuarial team members and leaders
What we're looking for3-6+ years of experience in actuarial science
At least 7 actuarial exams passed; typically has ASA designation, progressing towards FSA designation
Driven, motivated and resourceful problem-solvers with critical thinking skills who are eager to learn, are coachable and committed to the rotational and exam progress parameters laid out by Lincoln.

Pay Range:Actual base pay could vary based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, proficiency and qualifications required for the role.
