Responsibilities
• Works with Clinic Nutritionist/Supervisor to assist with WIC high-risk clients.• Helps clients with nutrition-related issues as they arise.• Teaches nutrition classes including preparing educational materials for clients.• Places Breastfeeding orders and maintain proper inventory.• Places Clinic and State monthly orders.• Monitors and assesses the quality and appropriateness of nutritional services by conducting monthly chart audits.• Conducts monthly Breastfeeding error log.• Conducts monthly electric pump audits.• Refers to the Nutritionist Supervisor, State WIC Staff, or outside resources as deemed necessary.• Assists Program Manager, Clinic Supervisors, and Clinic Coordinators in staff education.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition.• Must have passed the WIC Certified Professional Authority exam in accordance with the State of Nevada WIC Policy GP 9 or pass WIC Certified Professional Authority exam in accordance with the State of Nevada WIC Policy GP 9 within 6 months of hire date.• Must complete the Nevada WIC Breastfeeding Basics course within 6 months of hire date.• Six (6) months of general clerical work experience is essential.• Six (6) months of customer service in a business is mandatory.• Must be organized, display strong time management abilities, and have attention to detail to effectively meet clinic needs.• Must maintain a positive, open, and objective attitude towards others.• Must be able to accurately type.• Must have a good working knowledge of English, grammar, punctuation, etc.• Must have the ability to operate standard office machines such as computers, tablets, printers, copiers, etc.
