JOB DETAILS: The Assistant Manager for Magic Touch Car Wash is tasked with developing and maintaining a team of people to deliver a clean, dry, shiny vehicle to the customer in a safe, fast, and friendly manner, while continually controlling the costs of the operation, increasing sales and maintaining the appearance of the facility. EXPECTATIONS: Increase car wash volume. Increase per car ticket average. Maintain a clean, attractive, safe facility. Maintain the quality of the wash. Follow equipment maintenance procedures. Maintain budgeted operational costs. Develop the skills of the team to achieve the results above ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Employee Supervision & Training: Train new employees. Mentor/redirect/coach employees to ensure compliance with company procedures. Assist the Manager in developing the weekly schedule for all employees. Foster a positive work environment that encourages honest dialog, feedback, and innovation. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required. Ensure adherence and compliance with all established policies, procedures, and processes. In the Manager's absence, accountable for managing the team through opening, closing, and ongoing maintenance of the facility during assigned shifts. This includes cash control procedures as part of the point of sale. In the Manager's absence, accountable for the overall performance of the team. Customer Service: Establish, demonstrate and recognize exceptional customer service. Resolve customer complaints and damage claims. Handle customer complaints, employee conflicts, and daily operational problems in an even-tempered, fair, and consistent manner. Responsible for ensuring a professional appearance and attitude at all times. Maintenance: Monitor and ensure correct chemical usage. Monitor and ensure adherence to all equipment and lot maintenance schedules. Monitor and document all aspects of site maintenance (maintain cleanliness of site, equipment maintenance/repair, chemical care, and quality of the wash service). Financial: Be extremely proactive in sales management and goals. Handle cash transactions/deposits ethically and efficiently. Maintain accountability for the operations of the car washes (deposits, inventory, cashier machine functionality & discount codes). In the Manager's absence, handle purchasing for the location. In the Manager's absence, invoice customers using proper procedures for cash, charge & credit. Promote sales, manage expenses and maximize profitability. Administration: Learns and understands the performance business data and applies it fairly to daily operations and decisions to increase productivity. Reaches established monthly goals. Follows daily opening and closing procedures accurately. Responds accurately and on time to all administrative duties and deadlines, including employee scheduling, evaluations, deposits, inventory, etc. Complete all required written reports in the allotted timeframe. Other duties as assigned by the Manager and/or Owner. QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school diploma or equivalent. 1+ years of previous management experience. Knowledge of the carwash business and a mechanical aptitude. Motivated with a positive and fun attitude. Professionalism, honesty, reliability, and ethical standards in all situations. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, especially DRB Systems. Must maintain reliable transportation. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee is on call for any repair or staffing incidents that occur. The employee regularly works 40 hours per week and occasionally attends meetings after normal business hours. Hours of work include, but are not limited to, the published hours of operation; however, additional hours before opening/closing will be necessary to complete duties. Must be flexible and able to work 8 to 10 hour days. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work standing for extended periods of time or all day.  Frequently moves and lifts up to 50 lbs.  Regularly bends and crouches to repair car wash equipment.  Occasionally unloads deliveries up to 50 lbs.  Occasionally puts parts/supplies away on multi-level shelving up to 50 lbs.  Pulls parts and supplies up to 50 lbs. when necessary.  Regularly required to use hands/fingers to operate a keyboard, touch-screen, push-buttons, etc.  Regularly required to use hands/fingers to operate small hand tools necessary to repair equipment.  Regularly speaks and listens on the phone and in person, to a customer and fellow employees. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentages. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
