General Description: This position will serve as Assistant Project Manager for multiple non-capital construction projects. This includes overseeing the development, design and construction phases of the small or simple projects. This also includes assisting fellow Project Managers in the development, design, and construction phases of the projects. Duties and Tasks: Assist Project Managers of non-capital projects from initiation through close-out, including:Assist in the development of scopes of work based on client requests or based on solving building issues.Assist in the development of early schedules for all assigned projects in Microsoft Project, based on given scope and required delivery dates.Assists in the facilitation and monitoring of the permit approval process, ensuring that the required permits for assigned projects are obtained in a timely manner and according to project schedules.Assist in the management of the bid and contract phases, and assist in the evaluation of the bid results.Assist in the direction of the construction phase by frequently monitoring of project.Assist a Project Manager in their responsibility for project documents including requests for information, submittals, pay applications, compliance with codes and regulatory matters, change directives, or change orders.Assists a Project Manager to ensure quick close-out of projects including punchlist completion, commissioning, training, asbuilt drawings and O&M Manual review.Assists a Project Manager in their responsibility for project safety and quality assurance.Maintains a project-sufficient knowledge of all College/VCCS policies and procedures, adhering to State and local procurement regulations.Applies professional and technical skills and knowledge to direct design professionals through the planning process.
