Position Description The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research at the Seattle Children's Research Institute is recruiting one full-time Assistant Professor, without tenure due to funding (WOT) on the Faculty Scientist track, Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications .
This position will support the department's commitment to basic, translational, or clinical cancer research or supportive care or outcomes research that is relevant to children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. Appropriate laboratory (wet or dry) space and resources for the candidates will be provided by the Seattle Children's Research Institute, where the investigators will join the Ben Towne Center for Childhood Cancer Research.
All University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service.
Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Anticipated Start Date: Summer/Fall 2024
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professors $9,584 - $12,917 per month ($115,008 - $155,004 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination . This range is inclusive of base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in university benefit determinations and calculations.
Qualifications Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant field or MD (or foreign equivalent). An MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent) is also acceptable.

The Research plan should provide a high-level overview of the projects/aims that the applicant will initially pursue as an independent investigator.
Applicants invited for interview will be expected to conduct a formal presentation to our faculty, which would highlight their current research and plans for developing an externally-funded, independent research program.
