Job DescriptionAssist in the management of a university high volume retail food facility under the direction of the unit operations managers. Responsibilities include assisting with execution of menu plan, personnel plan, customer relations, sales and register transactions, safety and sanitation, and the maintenance and security of the building and equipment. Assist in the supervision, counseling, training and development of employees. Ensures all policies and procedures are followed. Ensures a high level of customer service at all times in the dining facility. Creates performance plans and completes performance evaluations for salaried direct reports.Required QualificationsPrevious supervision and management experience in a multiple item menu, food service establishment. Previous experience leading and directing the work of others in a commercial food service environment. Demonstrated knowledge of commercial kitchen and food service operations. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safe food handling practices, and food sanitation. Demonstrated knowledge of computers including Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite or similar programs. Previous experience operating an electronic cash register accurately. Demonstrated experience with proper cash handling/reporting processes. Excellent customer service and interpersonal communications skills with a diverse group of people in a friendly courteous manner. Ability to perform multiple functions simultaneously in a work environment with periods of high stress. Demonstrated ability to successfully operate within a team based environment.Preferred QualificationsPrevious experience with national franchise food service operation. Demonstrated knowledge of automated payroll and automated food inventory systems (FoodPro). Associates degree in Food Service or Nutrition and/or equivalent related experience.
