The Position: As the Assistant Human Resources Manager in our manufacturing environment, you'll be responsible for assisting in all aspects of HR operations, from recruitment and onboarding to employee relations and performance management. Your role will involve ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies, while also promoting employee engagement, development, and well-being to drive a positive and inclusive work culture. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to implement strategic HR initiatives that support the company's mission and objectives.
WHAT YOU'LL DO Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, employee morale, work performance, and organizational productivity concerns. Conduct investigations into employee complaints and concerns, ensuring fair and consistent practices. Partner with local team to communicate HR policies, procedures, programs, and laws. Manage and implement engagement committee events, as well as community engagement events. Implement initiatives to enhance employee morale, satisfaction, and engagement such as employee events, recognitions programs, and feedback mechanisms. Assist with the recruitment process by posting job advertisements, screening resumes, conducting interviews, administering preemployment background screenings, and making hiring recommendations. Partner with local colleges and high schools and participate in job and career fairs. Coordinate new employee onboarding and orientation programs, ensuring a smooth transition for new hires. Identify training needs and assist in developing and implementing training programs for employees. Monitor and track employee training and development initiatives to ensure effectiveness and compliance with company policies and regulations. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws and regulations. Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other employee perks. Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases. Prepare regular reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates, employee satisfaction, and recruitment statistics. Complete all documentation related to unemployment claimant responses in a timely manner, review attendance records of current employees, and manage other administrative tasks related to HR functions. Manage HR projects as assigned, ensuring timely completion and effective communication with stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and strategic goals. Actively support safety initiatives and improvement of safety performance at the facility. Other duties as assigned. Your skills and abilities (required qualifications) Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work independently and handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. Willingness to relocate in 1-3 years. Travel: Must be willing and able to travel up to 10%. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Office and plant environment. Keyboarding, lifting, standing, bending, walking.
