As a hotel assistant general manager, your duties include a mix of administrative, operational, and sales tasks. Your responsibilities are to oversee daily operations for all departments, such as the housekeeping, front desks, and maintenance departments, while also improving your hotel's public image, revenue, and growth, hiring and training new staff, and handling guest relations to ensure a high-quality experience that can lead to improved customer relations. You also provide administrative support to the general manager and carry out their policies.Responsibilities:Recommend improvements that will improve the hotel profitability by analyzing department performance and identifying problem areasDeliver support to the human resources department to help them improve turnover management, employee motivation, and staff growth and retentionSupport the general manager in the daily operation of the hotel to ensure that all guest service standards are metCreate the yearly hotel budget in collaboration with the general manager and department heads, and assess and adjust performance throughout the year to stay profitableEnsure that all local, state, and federal rules and regulations, as well as any corporate or brand-established policies and practices, are followedQualifications:This position requires a high school diploma or GED, and a bachelor's degree with preference given to those with a hospitality management degreePrevious experience managing a team is required; preferably in a hospitality role such as department managerPossess excellent organizational skills, communication skills, and problem-solving skillsYou must have 3 or more years of experience working in the hospitality fieldThis role requires a strong emphasis on putting the guest first and providing exceptional customer serviceAbout Company:The Homewood Suites by Hilton Kansas City/Overland Park hotel in Kansas is conveniently located in a residential style setting near the intersection of I-435 and Metcalf.
