Job DescriptionThe Assistant Director of Financial Literacy will be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive student Financial Literacy Program. The Assistant Director is responsible for and manages all aspects of the program from planning, creating awareness campaigns, to content development/acquisition, and execution. So, if you're passionate about student and program development, please keep reading.HERE'S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THIS ROLE1) You'll be joining the Hokie Wellness team; a department centered on fostering a healthier Virginia Tech community by providing prevention services, education, outreach, and resources to employees and students.The department strives to educate and empower every Hokie to take an active and engaging day-to-day approach to their wellness in order to enjoy a long, healthful, and purpose-filled life.2) You'll be reporting to the Associate Director for Education & Prevention, in a Regular twelve-month, 100% administrative professional appointment.3) You'll be responsible for the development, implementation, and ongoing management of a comprehensive student Financial Literacy Program.4) You'll manage all aspects of the Financial Literacy Program from planning, creating awareness campaigns, to content development/acquisition, and execution. Knowledge of personal finance topics including budgeting, credit scores, and debt management strategies.• Knowledge of student loans/debt including debt reduction, elimination, and federal student loan repayment plans.• Outstanding communication skills, including written, oral, and listening.• Experience working with students and a working knowledge of student development.• Superior organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.• Demonstrated ability to build, develop, and cultivate relationships across campus with a variety of constituents and work effectively with diverse populations.• Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed for events/programs.Preferred Qualifications• Master's degree in related field, such as: business administration, financial planning, management, psychology, public health.• Certification in personal finance such as the Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Financial Social Work (FSW), or another related credential.•Previous work with college students.• Knowledge of collegiate financial aid.
