The Assistant Director for Student Outreach is responsible for building an engaged learning community by developing, implementing and evaluating Georgetown University's Masters of Arts in Communication, Culture, and Technology's enrollment management strategy.
They also serve as part of the Program Director's administrative team and collaborates to build and maintain a vibrant CCT community of current students and alumni, as well as for prospective students. Specifically, they plan and implement effective strategies for recruiting a diverse and international applicant pool; administers all aspects of the admissions process, e.g., conducts market research, identifies target populations and strategies to engage them, manages and evaluates advertising, and organizes the logistics of application review; develops, implements, and evaluates the merit aid strategy; communicates with prospective students through individual outreach and presentations; manages the program's media placements, online presence, and website, including the overall presentation, information architecture, content development, troubleshooting, optimization, and analytics, with particular goals of recruiting students and raising the program's profile; and supervises graduate student staff and volunteers.
The Assistant Director's goal is to engage prospects, bring them into the CCT community, and help foster a strong community while they are here. Duties include but are not limited to: Enrollment Management Design, including a) implement and evaluate the enrolment management strategy; b) manage the admissions process and financial aid; and c) actively manage CCT's media placements and web presence with particular concern for recruiting students and raising the program's profile. Special Events Coordination with responsibility to plan and oversee logistics for special events (commencement activities, new student orientation; academic, industry, and alumni events), within budget, financial policies, and operational procedures. General administrative duties that may fall in other categories that support the program - such as community development, alumni relations, contributing to community development, human resources, and finance. Work Interactions and Work Mode Designation


Reporting to the CCT Program Director, the Assistant Director for Student Outreach works collaboratively with the CCT Academic Advising position to follow students as they graduate and then become alumni; works closely with the CCT staff, faculty, and alumni; and calls, emails, and meets with prospective students.


They work closely with all functional areas within the Graduate School Dean's Office and the Interdisciplinary Programs staff, as well as prospective students, current students, alumni, vendors/suppliers, industry connections, and many other audiences.


As well, they liaise with other Georgetown University offices such as Graduate Admissions, University Registrar, Office of Global Services, and Student Financial Services and Financial Affairs and other academic units.


The Assistant Director necessarily demonstrates a proactive and adaptable approach to their work, remaining responsive to the evolving needs of the program and university community. While this description provides a comprehensive overview of the role's primary duties, additional tasks may arise from time to time to support the program's goals, requiring the Assistant Director to approach their responsibilities with professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to excellence.

Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor's degree 2 - 4 years of experience working in communications or marketing Commitment to student success as part of an equitable and diverse community Working knowledge of enrollment management and admissions best practices Exceptional communication skills in writing, editing, public speaking, and customer service Strong analytical, financial, and documentation skills; experience using data to understand historical trends to drive and support decision making, linking strategies to outcomes A self-starter with a proven ability to collaborate and develop best-in-class business models, systems, and procedures to support an exceptional student experience Events management experience An ability to understand the nuanced needs and characteristics of this specialized academic program, and the ability to authentically articulate the unique opportunities and value Understanding of social media and emerging media tools to utilize in recruitment and branding of the program Organized, and proactive; highly responsive, flexible, and adaptable Technical aptitude and the ability to pick up new technology quickly Understanding of appropriate and confidential communication, file management, and storage Applications proficiency in Google Apps, WordPress or other web editing tools, and Adobe Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premier Pro) Current Georgetown Employees:
