Assistant Directors (ADs) of Admission serve a vital role as recruiters, admissions counselors, office leaders, and project managers within the Office of Admissions at Towson University. This AD position will oversee a specific area within the TU enrollment portfolio, working with select special student populations such as Honors, Middle School, Dual-Enrollment, Non-Traditional/GoldenID, Freshmen Transition Program, and other unique student types.
This position will serve as an official representative of Towson University at college fairs, high school visits, and other recruitment activities within an assigned territory. As a member of the Freshman Recruitment Team, the selected individual will aid in the successful strategic planning and execution of the team's collective goals. They will recruit, review, and enroll qualified students to TU while providing exceptional customer service to prospective students and their families, assisting with various marketing activities, and developing relationships with school counselors, Community-Based Organizations, TU alumni, and other external constituents. 
Responsibilities and Duties
Plan, coordinate, and oversee the development of special population cohorts while creating and supporting strategic enrollment goals and initiatives pertaining to these groups. This includes project management, engagement and outreach with partners both across TU and throughout the community, event planning, and peer leadership. Manage a recruitment territory for freshman admissions. Conduct in-state and out-of-state visits, college fairs, and other related events pertaining to undergraduate student recruitment and enrollment. Conduct both in-person and virtual information sessions for prospective students and families. Assist with marketing campaigns and personalized outreach via phone, email, text, notes, events, etc. Actively participate in open houses and other TU recruitment/yield events throughout the year. Develop a specific territory outreach plan to proactively connect with prospective students within that territory. Counsel prospective, admitted, and enrolled students on admission to TU. Provide excellent customer service via phone, chat, text, and email, as well as in-person and virtual meetings. Understand admissions policies and requirements and provide information session presentations during campus tours and visits. Evaluate student applications for admission and scholarship awards to Towson University through a holistic review process. Develop relationships with high school counselors, alumni, and Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) to enhance the network and brand of TU. Serve as official liaison for multiple CBOs: organizing group visits to campus, managing contacts and communication, and deepening relationships with these groups. Utilize data and enrollment trends to develop a recruitment and travel strategy. Complete a territory report and analysis to assist with recruitment & outreach efforts. Utilize internal and external data to enhance territory management and stay on top of higher education trends that affect students. Complete general admissions duties including, but not limited to: customer service, application processing, holistic review, on-campus events, special projects, campus committees, and any other duties as assigned to meet the enrollment goals of the university.  Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing. Qualifications and Skills
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required. At least two years of professional work experience. Excellent communication skills.  Must have the ability to present to groups of diverse audiences in various types of venues.   Must pay attention to detail, possess strong organizational and analytical skills, and be comfortable working in a team environment. Must have the ability to travel independently and on short notice. Preferred:
Professional experience in a college admissions office. Salary and Benefits Starting salary is $59,000. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
