Job Summary:
The Assistant Controller/Senior Analyst supports the financial operations of the organization by assisting in the preparation of financial statements, managing accounting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and providing financial analysis and insights to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy.
Financial Analysis:
Analyze financial data, trends, and variances to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance.
Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes and track actual performance against budgets.
Accounting and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, industry standards, and relevant regulations.
Oversee the preparation of tax filings and coordinate with external auditors during financial audits.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting processes, enhance internal controls, and improve the efficiency of financial operations.
Team Management:
Supervise and provide guidance to accounting staff, including training and development.
Financial Systems:
Utilize financial software and systems to maintain accurate records and generate financial reports.
Cash Management:
Monitor cash flow and manage cash reserves to ensure liquidity needs are met.
Ad Hoc Projects:
Assist in special projects as needed, such as mergers and acquisitions, system implementations, or financial analysis for strategic initiatives.
Risk Management:
Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
At least 10 years of accounting or financial management experience, including supervisory roles.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and relevant regulations.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
Excellent and demonstrated problem analysis/solving skills.
Clear and effective communication, both written and verbal
Solid team collaboration and team building abilities
Ability to learn rapidly and teach others
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
Ability to work effectively in a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Hands on knowledge of QuickBooks enterprise and or NetSuite
Outstanding Excel Skills

Location :
This is a hybrid position, with the bulk of the work being handled from a home office, however, we are looking for someone living and working within a reasonable commute to New York City and Westchester County for face-to-face meetings and team building events.
