Join an exceptional team as an Assistant Banquet Manager! In this role, you'll be a driving force in supporting and supervising various event locations, including event centers, pavilions, and remote spaces. Working closely with the Banquet Operations Manager, you'll uphold the highest service standards and represent the Food and Beverage team with excellence.
Your responsibilities will include overseeing the PM shift at the Event Center and outdoor event spaces, as well as:
- Coordinating Food and Beverage programming, such as demonstrations and mixology events, incorporating locally sourced ingredients from the farm, orchard, greenhouses, apiary, and kitchen gardens.
- Overseeing property-wide event activations for social, group, and corporate clientele.
- Leading a team of Banquet Captains, Servers, Bartenders, and Housemen, with responsibilities including scheduling, inventory management, product ordering, training, and staff management.
- Maintaining the highest levels of quality and control across all operations.
To thrive in this role, you'll need:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the industry, with a focus on Banquet operations.
- At least 2 years of experience working in a high-end hotel or resort setting.
- Familiarity with Relais & Chateaux and Forbes standards (preferred but not required).
- Knowledge of Delphi software (preferred).
- An award-winning background and a proven track record of excellence and success.
- Effective management of budgets and P&L to achieve overall profitability.
- Polished verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English and the ability to communicate articulately with the executive team.
- Excellent training abilities, with a positive attitude toward interacting with all team members and guests.
- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a surgically clean work environment.
- A polished and professional appearance.
- Experience in staff recruitment, scheduling design, and performance coaching.
- Knowledge of industry trends and a knack for setting new trends.
- Outstanding customer service orientation and unquestioned hospitality skills.
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as necessary.
- Physical and mental capability to meet the demands of the position, including working indoors and outdoors.
- Ability to manage the business, conduct inventory, monitor labor costs, beverage costs, and operating costs.
Qualifications:
- A 4-year college degree is preferred, but a combination of education and relevant training/experience will be considered.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods and work in all weather conditions.
