Assistant Accountant Location Calabasas, CA : POSITION: Clerk, Sr. Accounting Accounts Payable CNS EXEMPT STATUS: Non-Exempt
NUMBER OF DAYS: 226
PAY GRADE: PG6
DIVISION: DEPARTMENT : Child Nutrition Services
REPORTS TO: Director of CNS and Finance Supervisor
SUPERVISES: EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree preferred
EXPERIENCE: Two years experience in clerical/secretarial position Inventory management experience preferred Qualifications Must be a high school graduate or have a GED equivalent. Must have knowledge of computer programs including spreadsheets (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word or equivalent word processing and accounting software). Must have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines. Must be able to function with independence and initiative. Must work well under pressure. Must be able to understand oral and written instructions. Must be able to maintain the confidentiality of student/parent information. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements of duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by individuals assigned to this position. Enters food orders in Child Nutrition Program software and verifies orders with Warehouse staff Work with Warehouse staff to ensure managers are receiving supplies, food, and chemicals on delivery days. Assist in creating food-related requisitions for schools needing purchased items including compiling quotes. Checks inventory for accuracy and helps assist with inventory control cost. Informs CNS Director, Dietitian and Field Supervisors when schools inventory is overstocked/understocked. Answers phone calls concerning purchasing food, supplies, and chemicals. Uses approved software and systems to review and process purchase orders for food, supplies, and chemicals as requested to support the school's needs. Maintain an appropriate and accurate inventory of supplies and/or equipment within the CNS inventory software. Communicate and provide support to managers. Receives and verifies accuracy with the Warehouse staff of incoming USDA commodities and food purchases for the purpose of ensuring availability and proper allocation of items and/or compliance with mandated health standards. Prepares and reviews various reports and program data, including monthly reconciliations, monthly invoices, food loss report, for the purpose of recording activities and providing reliable and up-to-date information to department leadership as required and/or requested. Collects and maintains proper documentation to record activities, provide reliable information, and ensure compliance with applicable guidelines and regulations. Participates in a variety of approved training, activities, and events, including in-service programs, seminars, conferences, workshops, etc. to satisfy professional learning requirements. Performs other job-related duties as assigned to ensure the department's efficient and effective functioning. Work Environment The environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress. Occasionally required to travel to facilities within the district. May be required to work after school and weekends.
