Ambulatory Surgery Centers ( ASC ) are healthcare facilities that perform surgery without requiring hospital admission and are associated with a lower length of stay. More and more orthopaedic procedures are moving into the ASC setting as Medicare and other payors are reimbursing in this space. Key Responsibilities: In this role, the Strategic Capabilities Leader ( ASC ) will be responsible for influencing development and execution of strategic initiatives that lead to a sustained and measurable competitive edge in the ASC channel across the DPS platforms to ensure DPS is the partner of choice for our ASC customers. This person will indirectly lead cross – functional teams that work collaboratively to develop innovative commercial strategies and contracting solutions for implementation by the ASC Sales Team and field sales organization across DPS platforms in a scalable manner. They will lead and coach others through quickly navigating internal processes as well as customer facing programs that delight the ASC customer. They will also consistently be called upon to translate business intelligence into meaningful insights for internal and external partners to evaluate opportunities and build business cases for technology and digital advancement and solutions that complement our core products.
To Be Successful, The Candidate Will: Identify, lead, develop, and deliver executable strategic plans to gain share or expand the market Develop and disseminate sub segment strategies for the next frontier of ASC market expansion Advance a differentiated ASC channel strategy and solutions through coordination with appropriate global marketing, R&D, data science, and business development partners from ideation to launch Strategic & tactical thinking to execute strong vision and strategy to drive business outcomes Analyze and monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer need Delivers results with indirect line management responsibility. Demonstrate credo-based leadership, adaptability, and learning agility while coaching others to high performance standards Partner with multiple functional areas (i.e., Marketing, Sales, HEMA , GBI , Prof Ed, HCC , Legal, GSM , etc.) and influence decision making that impacts the ASC channel Develop project plans and timelines using project management standards, methodology and tools Handle complexity – needs of the platforms, as well as the ASC requirements and priorities, along with external customers, KOLs, and society requirements. Consistent track record of thinking creatively, crafting strategic solutions to sophisticated problems, as well as strong performance and execution history This role reports to the U.S. Commercial Director of Innovation & Strategy, ASCs.
Qualifications Education:
A minimum of Bachelor's degree is required A Master's degree or Advanced degree is highly preferred Required Skills & Experience:
A minimum of 8 years progressive business experience in healthcare in sales, marketing, finance, consulting, orthopaedics, project management roles or a related field Substantial cross functional team and project management experience Proven ability to consistently deliver strong business results Experience balancing long term growth opportunities with short term wins Demonstrated ability to build compelling business cases and influence senior leadership and colleagues Stellar cross-functional and management influencing skills and ability to develop customer relationships Preferred Skills & Experience:
Major in Marketing, Business, Finance, Technology, or Healthcare related field Open minded personality with ability to empower team for new tasks Positive demeanor, resilience, and adaptable to change Ability to effectively communicate and influence / persuade Balance strategy development with solid execution Collaborate successfully and lead high-performing internal teams, even without direct reporting relationships Insight generation or business intelligence translated into strategy Experience with mergers, acquisitions, co-marketing agreements Ability to work in an operating room and cadaver/wet lab Experience with or understanding of third-party insurers/reimbursement landscape and the impacts of the payor/payee system on small to large health systems and outpatient practices Experience working with machine learning algorithms, data sc Other:
Ideally a candidate would reside within a commutable distance to a DPS campus in the USA , (West Chester, PA, Warsaw, IN, West Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Raynham, MA) or a JNJ MedTech Campus in the continental USA . The base compensation for the role is between $118,000-$203,550. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
