Primarily responsible for the maintenance and administration of AS/400 (iSeries servers, multiple partitions), including message handling, command line utilities, work management, job and print control, device management, system configuration and security setups, backup and restore, client access application, external process and/or file transfer integration, and PTFs management. Also knowing and supporting network equipment as well as TCP/IP networking are required. Experience with replication or HA software like iTera or MIMIX is a must.
Assist in daily administration of IBM AS/400 computer hardware and software. Assist in installation, configuration and maintenance of AS/400 computer hardware, software, networked devices and AS/400 client-access software, journaling, mirroring software, etc. Develop, document and maintain procedures for system utilities, such as backups, restores, performance tuning, and configurations and perform daily and quarterly backups of production systems and other backups as required. Assist in the planning, development and integration of enterprise-wide networks, communication, and technology systems. For major system changes, incumbent defines need, weighs options, and proposes solutions. Outlined system changes can be made based on own knowledge and experience. It will occasionally be necessary to take quick actions, such as implementing HA during a major system in an emergency that has simultaneous major impact on the functioning of the Casino and Hotel facilities. Load and test operating system and application software releases, and fixes in both test and productions environments and load application and software patches; run performance and file tuning utilities; etc. The system of functioning hardware and software must be maintained and supported 24 hours per day, 7 days per week due to its Casino and Hotel operations. Document and implement applications specific security groups and classes. Cross train other team members in AS/400 administrative skills. Participate in systems administration team and share responsibility for management of the AS/400 and Windows servers. May serve on additional technology teams as required. Knowledge of AS400 High Availability setup MIMIX, iTerra, etc. Knowledge of AS400 networked systems, access and security guidelines and procedures. Knowledge of network hardware and software troubleshooting techniques. Solves technically challenging problems involving AS400 based critical application and hardware issues. Skill in prioritizing and balancing multiple tasks. Skill in establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with other MCRS team members. Skill in providing excellent guest service. Skill in working in a teamwork environment. Skill in Windows Active Directory. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field; AND five (5) years of computer systems experience with AS/400, Windows, and Cisco Networking equipment in a demand-based service oriented environment/ OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, working knowledge of casino applications (Konami Synkros), hotel applications (Agilysys LMS), point-of-sale applications (Agilysys Infogenesis), inventory management applications (Agilysys SWS), and/or financial applications (Infor Infinium) a plus.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures and manuals written in English.Must be able to write grammatically correct reports and correspondence. Must have the ability to communicate interpersonally and respond to inquiries from groups of managers, team members, guests and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Calculate figures and amounts such as ratios and percentages.
REASONING ABILITY: Must have the ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Troubleshooting ability consists of defining problems, collecting data, testing potential solutions, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work involves frequent sitting, standing, walking and crouching or kneeling, reaching with arms and using the hands to manipulate, feel and enter data by frequent and sustained use of keyboard and mouse. Site work involves limited manual labor, typically involving the setup of desktop PCs, running data cables, and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Requires the ability to speak and hear. Vision abilities required by this job typically include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: This is a fast paced work environment and the position requires the ability to cope with it. The casino has moderate to loud noise levels and is a smoking environment.
WORKING HOURS: Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require team members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
