The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, developing, and delivering art instruction so that students can express themselves in different mediums. This role requires a solid commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills among students of varying abilities.
Key Responsibilities :
Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective art lessons that promote creativity, artistic skills, and critical thinking. Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with state or national standards and meets the diverse needs of students. Foster a positive classroom environment, encouraging students to express themselves and take creative risks. Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth. Organize and oversee art-related activities and events, such as art shows, exhibitions, and field trips. Collaborate with colleagues and administration to ensure a cohesive approach to education and maintain a positive school culture. Maintain a well-organized and safe classroom environment, including properly storing art supplies and equipment. Stay current with developments in the field of art education, including new techniques, technologies, and trends. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to address any issues and keep stakeholders informed of student progress. Other responsibilities include residential duties, serving as an
academic advisor, and leading outdoor pursuits that may
include backpacking, rock climbing, kayaking, skiing, and mountain biking
among other activities. Compensation is based on teaching experience and
education and provides room and board on our beautiful 50-acre campus
fourteen miles from Durango.
