Position Summary Plans, directs, implements, and coordinates the strategies and tactics to be employed by the Sales force and Regional Sales Managers to ensure achievement of regional, area and national sales quotas in the effort to surpass our yearly goals. Along with the management of up to 6 Regional Sales Managers, the Area Director will also be accountable for high level relationships with key identified hospital systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities Direct management of up to 6 Sage Sales Managers and overall leadership of Sales Reps by providing support during the sales process as needed by regional managers and account managers. Direct management of up to 3 Strategic Account Managers. Develops and implements business plans to consistently achieve quota. Responsible for keeping the Leadership Team informed of all sales related activity, market trends, highlights, and competitor activity within the sales team. Drives employee engagement through communication, support and responsive management. Actively seeks to recruit and select diverse talent through the consistent candidate screening, and face to face interviewing practices in partnership with Human Resources. Focuses on the personal and professional development of sales team to ensure on-going engagement and success. Establish and grows relationships with key customers within geographic responsibility. Responsible for management of the Area Sales P&L. Actively participates in the budgeting process. Pursues new business opportunities, new markets, definition and redefining of territories and acquisitions, as necessary. Accountable for all record-keeping as appropriate and in accordance with Stryker specifications. Utilizes proper software and technological tools to maintain proper records. Extensive travel may be required as annual quotas must be maintained. Basic skills – Time management, project management, interpersonal communications, reports and budget, stress management, people management, conflict management, team leader skills, re-engineering, customer service, ISO9000, Windows, advanced computer, statistics, manufacturing process, auditing, financial systems, organization structure, and office equipment. Contributes to leading in product innovation by listening and working with others and contributing new ideas. Contributes to the success of team members by implementing good supervisory and team management practices and techniques. Focuses on customer satisfaction by demonstrated teamwork and empowerment, solving problems through a consultative approach, operating with honesty and integrity and providing a highly responsive and unsurpassed level of customer service. Education & Special Trainings Bachelor's degree in related discipline or equivalent work experience required. Qualifications & Experience Must have 10+ years related sales and/or marketing experience Must have 5+ years of demonstrated leadership ability Must possess excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills. Must be PC literate. Experience working with Microsoft Office products preferred. Must possess valid driver license in the state of residence. Excellent time management skills with ability to use independent judgment effectively. Strong inter-personal communication skills specifically relating to stress management, people management and conflict management.
