Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) is seeking an AR/VR Engineer or Specialist to be based in our Aiken, SC location on the Savannah River Site. The  AR/VR Engineer or Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) experiences. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create immersive and interactive solutions that push the boundaries of technology.
Design and develop AR/VR applications, simulations, and experiences from concept to implementation Implement advanced AR/VR features such as 3D object recognition, spatial mapping, gesture recognition, and real-time interactions Optimize performance and user experience across various AR/VR platforms and devices Integrate external hardware components, sensors, and peripherals to enhance AR/VR experiences Stay updated on emerging AR/VR technologies, tools, and trends to continuously improve development processes and outcomes Collaborate with trainers, process operators, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of AR/VR elements into projects Conduct thorough testing and debugging to identify and resolve technical issues in AR/VR applications Document code, workflows, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and team collaboration Provide technical guidance and support to team members and stakeholders throughout the development lifecycle Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute innovative ideas to enhance AR/VR projects and products Other duties as assigned Candidate(s) selected to receive an offer will be offered the position level commensurate with their education, experience, and qualifications. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field from an accredited college or university Programming skills in C#, C++, or other relevant languages Experience with AR/VR hardware (e.g., Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, Microsoft HoloLens) and SDKs Additional Information:
Candidate(s) selected to receive an offer will be offered the position level commensurate with their education, experience, and qualifications. Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or closely related field from an accredited college or university Knowledge of mobile development (iOS, Android) and familiarity with ARKit, ARCore, or similar frameworks Proven experience developing AR/VR Understanding of 3D graphics, computer vision, and spatial computing principles Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Passion for AR/VR technology and a desire to create immersive, transformative experiences. Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC), a prime contractor for the US Department of Energy, is responsible for managing the Department of Energy's Savannah River Site's Liquid Waste operations contract. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, SRMC is a limited liability company formed by nuclear operations and environmental remediation global leaders BWXT, Amentum, and Fluor. The SRMC Team is responsible for the closure of waste tanks, the operation of the Savannah River Site's Defense Waste Processing Facility, tank farm operations and associated production and disposal facilities.
