*** Contract to hire with PNC to replace eventually the current hiring manager ( as a permanent employee of PNC )


*** Job location: on site in Pittsburgh, PA - Birmingham, AL - Dallas, TX - Cleveland, OH - Phoenix, AZ


*** Hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office and 2 days at home




Applications Manager:


- Prior experience in a leadership capacity / managing large teams - 50+ people on team, minimum of 25 team members
- Team does data modeling and reporting for various banking teams including: Lending, Retail, CBIB, Fraud, Analytics, etc
- Attend Standups - learning the environment, shadowing the current Applications Manager, collaborate/interact with tech leads
- Get up to speed on different aspects of Applications Manager role, connection with LOB ( Line of Business ), lots of meetings around risk management, driving down incident prevention on RTB, managing variabilities, architecture management, etc
- Become familiar with current initiatives, Security and Risk Compliance
- Leadership : get to know all the technical components the team supports, managing the technical work and knowing what's going on technically, must speak technical and business
- Presentations, speak to other directors


- Must have a background in data management - Oracle Exadata + Teradata, Hadoop + Data modeling ( ERwin Data Modeler ), Business intelligence / analytics (tools + reporting) like Tableau


- Additional tools : Cloudera Impala massively parallel processing (MPP) SQL query engine for Hadoop, Apache Spark distributed data processing engine, Sqoop data transfer tool, Hue ( Hadoop User Experience - web user interface ), etc
