I am looking for an Application Engineer for a growing company. The Application Engineer is responsible for preparing customer quotations and providing sales support for industrial automation customers. This is an on-site position with 10-20% travel.
Primary Duties:
· Support sales team as the product expert during customer emails, calls, or visits. Analyze customer applications and recommend solutions to their control system challenges based on our group's product offering and core competencies.
· Meet with customers and conduct site surveys of industrial automation control systems to gain understanding of project opportunities. Gather information needed to work with project engineers/managers to develop solutions to address customer requirements.
· Use industry process knowledge and product application expertise to recommend solutions for customers.
· Prepare system configuration drawings, commercial and technical proposals by studying system schematics, specifications, plans and related customer documents, consulting with engineers, and other professional and technical personnel.
· Present technical/commercial proposals to customers. Follow-up with existing customers and foster new business relationships; supporting multiple locations as required.
Qualifications:
· Engineering degree or equivalent experience in industrial automation.
· Experience working with PLC, AC & DC Drive systems, and HMI products.
· Metals processing knowledge is strongly preferred.
