The Applications Analyst position is open for candidates interested in managing software licensing, offering application support and contributing their expertise in project scoping. This role falls under the IT department and reports to the Director of Enterprise Applications.Applications Analyst Responsibilities: Serve as the primary IT contact for engaging with key stakeholders to elicit requirements, identify opportunities and propose innovative solutions to enhance business processesGuide business stakeholders through the evaluation of software, vendors and solutions, and assist in documenting recommendationsAid in the creation of business value statements and project funding requestsCollaborate with the IT team and management to establish annual and project-specific budgets related to software acquisition, maintenance and upgradesAnalyze usage patterns and trends to forecast future software requirements and associated costsRegularly audit software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements and legal obligationsAddress and resolve software-related issues, escalating complex matters to senior IT personnel as necessaryWork alongside cross-functional teams to align business objectives and execute strategies within corporate technology platformsProvide expertise on technical architecture, design, security and implementation of software solutionsDevelop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate proposed solutions and ensure alignment with business needsUphold IT and business process controlsManage relationships with third-party entities to effectively align capacity with strategic goalsApplications Analyst Requirements:4+ years of practical experience in software development and deploymentBachelor's degree in an Information Technology discipline; a suitable combination of education and professional experience will also be consideredFamiliarity with the Building Products or Manufacturing industriesProficiency in common software systems like ERP, CRM and productivity suitesKnowledge of vendor management best practicesUnderstanding of software licensing, procurement and asset management principlesAwareness of effective IT General Controls practicesStrong verbal and written communication skills, characterized by an open and direct styleA genuine enthusiasm for sound IT development practicesThe ability to work independently while also leading discussions with cross-functional teamsA track record of delivering outcomes in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities
