Summary Big West Oil is seeking an API Pressure Vessel and Piping Inspector to perform Process Unit Inspector duties. This position will help support a developing Mechanical Integrity program and help execute short/long term inspection program objectives. Position is responsible for supporting both on-stream and TAR Inspection related activities for the refinery asset. Position is responsible for executing inspection plans for assigned process units.
Key Responsibilities Include: Help maintain APM-Meridium inspection modules for assigned units(IM-Inspection Management, TM-Thickness Monitoring). Execute inspection tasks in assigned process units, as identified in APM-Meridium(Inspection Manager module), for pressure vessels and piping. Perform and/or coordinate inspections on pressure vessels per API 510 guidelines and Utah State Rules and Regulations. Perform and/or coordinate inspections on pressure piping per API 570 guidelines. Generate recommendations and repair plans based on inspection findings. Prepare technical reports and document Inspections in APM-Meridium software. Help develop and execute TAR Inspection Plans for assigned process units. Coordinate contract inspection resources when needed for assigned process units. Communicate with appropriate Operations/Maintenance personnel so that Inspector will stay notified of equipment availability for inspection and monitor any repair or alteration activities that result from inspection findings. Participate in Process Hazard Analysis(PHA) reviews and Hazard and Operability Study(HAZOP) re-validations for assigned process units Requirements EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
High School Diploma/GED required. API-510 and API-570 required. API-653 and CWI preferred. Ability to obtain a Certificate of Competency from the State of Utah Labor Commission within the first year.
EXPERIENCE(REFINING SECTOR REQUIRED)
Minimum 5 years of API-Inspection experience required(10yrs preferred); and 5 years of NDE experience is required. Practical experience with RBI methodology and refinery degradation mechanisms(API-571) is preferred.
