Position: AP/AR Specialist
Type: Contract (1-3 months)
Pay: $27.00 - $28.00 per hour
Position Location: Hillsboro, Oregon

Position Summary The main responsibility of this position is to manage financial transactions, focusing on accounts receivable and payable activities. This role ensures accuracy and timeliness in all accounting duties.
Key Responsibilities: Accounts Receivable Duties: Record daily cash receipts and reconcile them against outstanding receivables. Generate periodic aging reports for accounts receivable. Send reminders for overdue payments. Interact with clients to oversee collections and resolve payment discrepancies. Issue credit memos for erroneous payments. Organize and alphabetically file receivable documents. Accounts Payable Duties: Enter new vendor data and payment terms into the system. Match invoices with corresponding purchase orders and receiving documents. Verify that invoices reflect the correct quantities and prices as per the purchase orders. Distribute invoices and accompanying documents to department heads for payment authorization. Assign general ledger codes from the chart of accounts to invoices. Promptly enter invoice data into the system and maintain files until the payment process. Select invoices for payment, process checks, and ensure the accuracy of financial records. Attach payment details to checks and forward all related paperwork to authorized signatories for signing. Keep an orderly system for filing payable documents alphabetically. Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phone calls. Carry out additional tasks as assigned.
Language Skills: Interpretation and Reading: Capable of understanding and interpreting accounting documents, including accounts receivable or accounts payable aging reports, price lists, and invoices. Written Communication: Skilled in composing routine reports and general correspondence. Verbal Communication: Proficient in maintaining professional and courteous interactions over the phone, through the paging system, and face-to-face with customers, vendors, employees, and the general public. Qualifications and Skills: A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of three years' experience in both accounts payable and receivable. Experience in a manufacturing setting is advantageous. Competency in calculating financial figures and data analysis. Ability to address and resolve varied practical challenges with limited standard guidelines. Proficiency in organizing documents efficiently and familiarity with Microsoft Office and specialized accounting software. Skilled in data entry and able to work independently with precision.
Qualifications and Skills: Educational Background: High school diploma or equivalent required Work Experience: Requires a minimum of two consecutive years of experience in both accounts payable and receivable. Industry Experience: Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Mathematical Skills: Competent in calculating financial figures and performing data analysis. Problem Solving: Capable of addressing and resolving various practical challenges using limited guidelines. Organizational Abilities: Proficient in efficiently organizing documents and familiar with Microsoft Office and specialized accounting software. Data Entry Skills: Experienced in data entry, with the ability to work independently and with precision. This position is crucial for the efficient management of financial transactions and administrative support within the organization.
