GENERAL DESCRIPTION Perform paint and finish maintenance processes per the maintenance support requirements. Enters documentation of maintenance in NALCOMIS (VIDSMAFs)
DUTIES The AP shall have demonstrated maintenance knowledge, experience, and working level skills/ability in: CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) requirements. Aircraft Paint and Finish certification. The AP shall have a minimum of one (1) year in the last ten (10) years of aircraft maintenance experience at an intermediate level of repair with emphasis in aviation paint/finish processes and Aviation Quality Assurance Collateral Duty Inspector to the level of effort and complexity of the requirements of this SOW. Examples of acceptable experience: Aviation Structural Mechanic (AM) enlisted (E5 through E-7). An AP shall be a graduate from Navy A or C schools or other military service equivalent. Completion of Navy Paint/Finish Course C-600-3182 or equivalent. Other duties as assigned EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS High School diploma or equivalent. Must have a minimum of one (1) year in the last ten (10) years aircraft maintenance experience at an intermediate level of repair with emphasis in aviation paint/finish processes . Must have Aircraft Paint and Finish certification . Completion of Navy Paint/Finish Course C-600 or equivalent. Must be a US Citizen Must have or be able to obtain a National Agency Check with Investigation. The NACI process will include requesting a credit history. We maintain a drug-free workplace and perform post offer, pre-employment substance abuse testing. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions. · Must be able to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for certain periods throughout the day.
· Must be able to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
· Must be able to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee and reach above/below shoulders.
· May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for short distances.
· May be required to read dials/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.
· Must be able to see imperfections, micrometer readings and other small scales.
· Must be able to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear.
· Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
May be required to operate power vehicles, machinery, hand tools, ground support equipment, fork lift, APU, etc.
