Primary Purpose of the Role:
The AI and Data Science Engineer is responsible for the modernization of Inmarsat Government's network analytics, development of process optimizations, design and deployment of internal tools, and integration with third party solutions.
In this role, you will work with a small team to develop and integrate new data analytics solutions into Inmarsat Government network and business operations. This position requires strong self-direction, proficiency in Python, database tools, and a fundamental understanding of AI and ML, including experience with training datasets and transfer learning.
Responsibilities:
Development of new, internal solutions, or integration and optimization of existing commercial Data Science and Artificial Intelligence productsTesting and integration of products and solutions into Inmarsat Government's network and business operationsDeployment and support of solutionsPerformance tracking and analyticsContinuous improvement of productsRequired Skills:
Strong understanding of Python and database toolsBasic knowledge of AI and ML principles, including experience with training datasets and transfer learningData Science fundamentals and experience with data science packages in Python or RExperience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or AzureBachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent field5 years of experience in software developmentAdditional Skills:
Understanding of advanced ML and AI principles and techniquesProficiency in additional programming languages like R, Java, or SQLExperience in developing and deploying ML modelsUnderstanding of "Big Data" tools such as Hadoop, Spark, or othersDigital communications and/or satellite communications experienceExperience with Agile and Scrum software development practices
