Agronomy Fertilizer and Chemical Procurement Manager Essential Responsibilities: The Agronomy Fertilizer and Chemical Procurement Manager is responsible for procurement and setting retail sales pricing for these products lines. This position is also responsible for the vendor relationships in regard to fertilizer and chemical vendors.
Accountable to the P&L for margin as it relates to chemicals micros and plant health and fertilizer product lines.
Manage the cooperatives risk by utilizing tools and DPR s to keep positions within acceptable limits.
Manages relations with outside vendors and negotiate pricing and program offerings to bring solutions to our membership.
Be responsible of the rebate programs and offerings with vendors and hold them accountable to yearend numbers and goals.
Accurate yearend chemical reporting to manufactures and distribution.
Work within a team to bring new and innovative solutions and programs to our membership.
Work across business units and other procurement groups to offer programs to members to mitigate risk and offer insights to coworkers on market conditions.
Communicate current market insights to the sales team and sales leadership to help our teams position products at the correct times of the year.
Submit Purchase Orders and contracts daily to keep a live DPR accurate.
Ability to work with the team to put together accurate forecasts around volume and projected margin.

The ability to work in a fastpaced commodity style market and make informed decisions utilizing data.
Be a vocal member of the Agronomy Leadership Team and be willing to be relentless in the pursuit of success for the business.

Requirements Agronomy Fertilizer and Chemical Procurement Manager Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor s degree or higher in agriculture or supply chain field preferred.
Five (5) years experience in commodity chemical or fertilizer experience required.
Strong computer and technology skills. Experience using business intelligence software preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Effective negotiation and closing skills.
Strong enthusiasm for building internal and external relationships.
