Primary Purpose of the Role:
As the Affinity Group Sales Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth and expanding Aurora's presence within the North American market. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Sales, you'll be responsible for cultivating strong relationships with affinity groups and leveraging strategic sales initiatives to unlock new opportunities for growth.
Key Accountabilities
Join Aurora Expeditions as our Affinity Group Sales Manager and take charge of driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives. Your role will involve creating and executing comprehensive sales strategies targeting special interest groups, aligning with Aurora's target client profile. With a focus on relationship building, you'll establish and maintain strong connections with affinity groups, ensuring a deep understanding of their needs and effectively positioning Aurora's services to meet them. Additionally, you'll be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing opportunities within the affinity group market segment, exceeding sales targets, and driving sustained revenue growth.
As part of our team, you'll collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including our Sustainability Manager, to integrate environmentally responsible practices into your sales strategies. You'll conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the affinity group space, continuously refining sales strategies to optimize performance. Your commitment to compliance and ethical standards will be essential as you represent Aurora within the affinity group community and actively participate in trade shows and events to showcase our offerings and establish meaningful connections.
About You
We are looking for a seasoned Affinity Group Sales Manager with a minimum of 4 years of previous group sales experience, preferably within the travel or hospitality sector. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in sales and administration activities, including budgeting, event planning, and sales reporting analysis, and possess advanced office skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google tools (SharePoint experience is a plus). Experience with Client Relationship Management (CRM) systems like Salesforce or similar is required, along with a demonstrated exceptional aptitude for sales and a track record of meeting Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Additionally, candidates should have the ability to develop excellent product knowledge for immediate sales and take responsibility for consistently growing their own understanding of international destinations, particularly those offered by Aurora Expeditions.
While not mandatory, a background in the travel industry and strong existing relationships would be highly regarded, as would previous experience and knowledge of adventure/expedition travel to Polar destinations and a broad understanding of relevant destinations and an international travel background.
