Responsibilities
• Provide advocacy-based domestic violence counseling• Conduct initial intake and safety assessments• Provide emotional support utilizing various counseling techniques• Plan and facilitate psychoeducational, prevention and/or support groups• Respond to callers on the SafeHouse Denver crisis line• Conduct crisis intervention and safety planning• Actively participate in staff meetings and supervision• Demonstrate initiative for service quality improvement• Provide support services to survivors at the Rose Andom Center• Represent SafeHouse Denver and promote its services
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in human service related field required• Master's degree in mental health-related field preferred• Bilingual (Spanish) required• Excellent time management and organizational skills• Experience working in a counseling setting• Strong knowledge of domestic violence and trauma-informed care• Skills in crisis intervention, advocacy, and counseling• Ability to work with a diverse population• Ability to travel to the Rose Andom Center and SafeHouse Denver
