Advanced Practice Provider Urology-Nemours Children'S Hospital, Delaware

Nemours Children's Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team! This position is responsible for performing direct and indirect patient care services as a member of the Urology team. The physician assistant will work in collaboration with physicians to assist with the overall care of the patients in Urology both working with the inpatient and outpatient population. This position will be split coverage between the Wilmington, Milford and Deptford locations. The schedule will consist of weekday coverage in Wilmington, Milford and Deptford locations as well as one weekend per month in Wilmington.


Essential Functions Perform history and physical examinations in both the outpatient setting. Enter patient information and patient prescriptions into the electronic medical record. Triage and respond to phone calls from referring physician, patients and their families, allied health professionals, insurance companies, etc. regarding patient care. Educate parents or legal guardians and other involved personnel on patient condition and plan of care. Provide general education and information on an ongoing basis to all personnel who are members of or work with the Divisions of Urology. See patients in the outpatient setting and write clinic notes on patients as medically indicated. Communicate with appropriate medical staff for purposes of consultation, referral, and coordination of patient care and other service issues. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program, NPs will require critical care certification Current certification by the National Commission of Certification of Physicians' Assistants Clear and active license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Delaware or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner America Heart Association BLS and PALS
