Job Description SummaryThe Mechanical Design Engineer will be assigned exhaust system hardware ownership to execute design tasks and leverage/build mechanical design skillset. Engineer will also be required to mentor and lead less experienced team members. Primary design effort in the next 12 months will include weight reduction efforts and resolution of unresolved design issues in preparation for upcoming Detailed Design Reviews and to support Concurrent Product Design releases for long lead hardware. Exhaust system design requires much system integration. As a result, this design role will provide exposure and collaboration with Performance, Controls, Externals, and the airframer.The hardware encompasses all types of manufacturing such as castings, additive, laser drilling, hot forming, fabrication and includes a range of materials from nickel, cobalt, and titanium based alloys as well as CMCs.Job DescriptionRoles and ResponsibilitiesExecute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
