Administrative Insurance Verification Assistant Location Burnsville, MN : Administrative Insurance Verification Assistant I. Job Summary This position is a part time opportunity in Burnsville, Minnesota. Monday through Wednesday 10am-4pm with flexibility. The administrative assistant provides a variety of clerical, administrative, and receptionist support for the clinic and its clients.
II. Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with clinical director, billing company, and/or appropriate staff to stay on top of third party payer fee schedule changes, policies, memos/bulletins, contracts, etc. As well as federal and state law changes. Navigate insurance websites to locate plans and verify basic coverage Contacting insurances by phone to verify eligibility and details of coverage for services Make updates and corrections to information provided by clients Document notes in our internal Electronic Medical Records system regarding verifications Coordinate with clients, providers, and front desk staff to obtain missing information prior to clientappointments Work with front desk team and clinical staff to determine which patients need updated verification of coverage/benefits III. Position Requirements A. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalency - required Previous experience in a healthcare administrative setting (coding/billing/insurance/patient care) - required Basic understanding of CPT codes and modifiers- required Comfortable with continuous communication with various insurance companies - required Proficient computer literacy including; ability to use computers and related technology efficiently - required High energy, excellent interpersonal and multi-tasking skills, and demonstrated self-directed work ethic - required Aptitude to work independently and demonstrate good judgement - required B. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Ability to multitask Excellent relationship and problem-solving skills; willingness to interact with clients in professional, confidential and sensitive manner Flexibility in dealing with novel and multi-faceted situations Ability to be punctual and dependable Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize and meet deadlines Ability to operate multi-line phone system, copier, scanner, credit card machine, and other office machines and materials.
