The Institute for Engineering in Medicine's (IEM) is hiring temporary administration support to assist the IEM Administrative Director and the IEM Director.
Duties/Responsibilities:
90%: Essential Job Duties
Assist Director with calendar scheduling, managing incoming meeting requests Manage IEM Director's calendar: Optimize the use of time, build in consistent breaks throughout the week (and ideally two swimming times), and manage expectations of stakeholders to transition to a culture of 25/50 min meetings. Manage IEM Director's email account Manage IEM Director's travel arrangements and reimbursements Scan and organize receipts for expense reimbursement Delegate document entry to Jill Hughes Manage Director travel, including making reservations and adding travel details to the calendar Update CV on a regular basis Develop a plan/process to systematize CV updates and paperwork requiring IEM Director's Signature Communicate and track MN-GEMS updates Update biosketch, current & pending, and other support documents for grant applications and reporting Assist with IEM summer project 10%: Other Director Support
Obtain Director signature on required documents Provide administrative support as needed Summer 2024 Projects
Execute MOU follow ups between the Universidad Peruana Caytano Heredia, Peru and Institute for Engineering in Medicine per fully executed MOU. In particular, the two universities agree: To explore opportunities for students such as Short term/ Long term mobility such as summer schools, semester abroad, articulation and exchange; Progression for students into Master's or Doctorate Programs; To identify opportunities for exchange of faculty and research staff Joint Supervision of Master's and Ph.D. Programs Students; To make faculty and students aware of the academic programs, research institutes, and educational resources of each other's institution; Joint Workshops, Conference and Co-publishing; To identify other areas of possible interest and collaboration; Develop and manage donor video for IEM MedTech Breakthrough fund involving ATP-Bio (John's lab), BMDC, and VHL Contribute to IEM Outreach and Communications projects Other projects as needed Located on the East Bank of the Mississippi River, the Institute for Engineering in Medicine (IEM) at the University of Minnesota is an interdisciplinary research organization committed to improving and streamlining healthcare by strengthening collaboration between the disciplines of engineering and medicine.
