Responsibilities
• Teach specific classes in designated discipline• Develop course syllabi and instructional materials• Maintain records, assign grades, and assess student progress• Adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations of NOVA and the VCCS• Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization• Meet assigned classes regularly• Submit required records and reports routinely• Teach prescribed courses of study with established texts• Adhere to statement on professional ethics• Meet assigned classes regularly
Requirements
• Effective planning and teaching skills• Knowledge and competence in designated discipline/field• Ability to adhere to policies, procedures, and regulations• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities• Commitment to professional ethics• Previous teaching experience preferred• Degree in relevant field preferred• Experience with face to face, remote, and online teaching preferred• Ability to work with diverse student population• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
