Adjunct Job Title: Adjunct, ESOL for Healthcare
Adjunct Job Description: Position Summary:
This position provides co-taught instruction in Bridge to Careers: Healthcare for Basic and/or Targeted English as a Second Language programs and is responsible for providing virtual face-to-face instruction in English to adult learners, age 18 and older who are interested in transitioning into a healthcare career pathway.
The Bridge to Careers: Healthcare course provides a foundational understanding of healthcare careers and concepts with English language vocabulary and communication support. Classes are offered on weekdays and Saturdays to include both daytime and evening hours. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The following are the functions essential to performing this job:
1. Co-Plan lessons based on student needs, career and learning goals, and/or the established core outcomes of the course.
2. Provide student-centered, interactive instruction that promotes foundational healthcare concepts and communication in English.
3. Develop and conduct ongoing student assessments
4. Keep accurate student records, to include attendance and grades.
5. Assist with compliance of grant requirements in areas of professional development, attendance, retention, documentation, and assessment.
6. Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing technology in instruction. Required Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree
2. Experience teaching or training in a healthcare field
Desired Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree or certificate in TESOL or TEFL
2. Successful experience teaching ESL/EFL/ESOL
3. Successful experience teaching adult learners
4. Successful experience teaching online or in a blended learning environment
5. Excellent oral and written English communication skills
6. Ability to work positively and effectively with students from diverse language, cultural, and educational backgrounds Pool Number: TS442P
