Addiction/Mental Health Counselling Associate

The Behavioral Health Associate works under the supervision of Clinical Social Worker or Inpatient Therapist. The Behavioral Health Associate works under the supervision of Clinical Social Worker or Inpatient Therapist and is responsible for the following:
Conducting functional analyses of patient behavior, participating as a member of the treatment team, contributing to the treatment plan and implement appropriate interventions from the plan, as needed. Conducting individual and group psycho-education, leisure activities and life- skill training and coaching for all patients. Monitoring behavioral health patients on both on the inpatient psychiatric unit and within the emergency department, for safety. Assisting in any intervention/de-escalation needed during a psychiatric crisis. Performing all other duties as assigned. Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work or other Human Services Field of Study
CPI certified (Within 90 days after hire)
Minimum Work Experience
Previous Behavioral Health experience preferred
Required Licenses/Certifications
CPI certified within 30 days after hire
BLS certified within 30 days after hire
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
Basic computer knowledge is preferred
Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
Ability to work independently within general guidelines
Ability to communicate in English, both orally and written
Ability to work flexible hours
Ability to work with adults experiencing mental health disturbances or dual diagnoses.
