We believe better air is a transformational force for good and we are on a mission to unleash it.As a member of the engineering team, you will be an integral member of a true multi-disciplinary, cross-functional team dedicated to bringing pioneering technologies to market through research, development, prototyping, and testing centered within our nationally recognized laboratories.  With a focus on acoustics and vibrations you will work with our team and a wide range of customers, consultants, suppliers, distributors, and strategic partners.  The successful candidate will take an active role in modeling, prototyping, evaluating, testing, and collaborating with others to explore and demonstrate solutions and concepts critical to the future of our business.  Additionally, the successful candidate will also participate in hands-on testing of custom equipment designed to meet the stringent requirements of our customers and high-end clients in our world-class R&D facilities.  
Position Responsibilities:  
The Acoustical Engineer will work within a team environment to create innovative technologies and solutions with a focus on acoustical and vibration engineering related to commercial and industrial HVAC systems.  Immediate tasks will include acoustical analysis of custom products, evaluation of potential acoustic technologies, and data acquisition and processing of acoustic and vibration data obtained through equipment testing.  
Position Requirements:  
Ability to handle confidential R&D projects appropriatelyInterest in research and developmentStrong aptitude in acoustical engineeringExcellent computer skillsProficient with numerical analysisExperience with laboratory equipmentGood documentation, project management, and organization skillsBachelor of Science degree in Acoustical Engineering, Physics, or related fieldMinimum 10 years of Acoustical Engineering experience – with a preference given to those with experience in the following areas: HVAC, Architectural, Test LabSafety focusedAccurate and alertInnovativeAble to lift 35 poundsAble to sit or stand for long periodsAble to work safely in a test lab environmentAble to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectivelyAble to interact with employees and customers effectively and courteouslyAble to plan, prioritize, and coordinate multiple activitiesAble to use basic laboratory test tools Preferred:  
Experience with HVAC system designFamiliarity with CFD / FEA – ANSYS SimulationsFamiliarity with HVAC industry test standards and societies, specifically:  AMCA, ASHRAE, AHRIFamiliarity with acoustical instrumentation and laboratory equipment, specifically Brüel & Kjær and National Instruments products Master of Science degree in Acoustical Engineering, Physics, or related field Nortek Air Solutions, LLC, offers a comprehensive compensation and benefits package.
