We are looking for an Accounts Payable Lead to join our team and work with our accounting department to oversee our organization's expenses. Accounts Payable Lead responsibilities include processing payments, verifying invoices and performing account reconciliations as needed. Ultimately, you will oversee our accounting team to ensure our organization's expenditures are accurate and our accounting practices are standardized across the organization.
Responsibilities Managing the accounts payable team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance to ensure efficiency and compliance with company policies. Overseeing the workflow and performance of the accounts payable team and coordinating efforts to manage invoices. Coordinate with procurement and receiving departments to ensure that purchase orders, receipts, and invoices are matched accurately and resolved discrepancies. Overseeing and performing the processing of invoices and verification of transactions to ensure accuracy and timely payments to suppliers. Preparing payment runs and paying suppliers timely. Assisting in resolving supplier issues related to inaccurate information on purchase orders, invoices, amounts, etc. Handle supplier inquiries and disputes, including resolving billing errors and working with procurement to negotiate adjustments or refunds to ensure fair and accurate transactions. Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports to assess performance and identify areas for improvement in the processing and payment processes. Verify vendor accounts, pay vendors and resolve purchase order, invoice or payment discrepancies Keep informed of regulatory requirements and best practices in accounting Requirements Proven work experience as an Accounts Payable Lead or similar role (5+ years) Capable of building strong relationships with suppliers and internal staff Strong leadership skills and proven supervisory experience Be proficient in Microsoft Suite products Advanced competency in accounting and business management software In-depth knowledge of accounts payable principles, accounting standards and industry regulations Great time management and organizational skills Excellent collaboration and communication abilities Relevant training and/or certifications as an Accounts Payable Specialist Benefits Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan (401k, IRA) Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick & Public Holidays) Short Term & Long Term Disability Work From Home (hybrid position includes a combination of working in office and from home) Free Food & Snacks
