Accounts Payable Coordinator Location Maumee, OH : The Company: We are a family-owned and operated Burger King® franchisee with 25 restaurants in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana. Additionally, Bennett Management owns and operates Tony Packo's Toledo, LLC., encompassing five Toledo-area restaurant locations, central manufacturing company, and a retail/wholesale division. Bennett Management also owns and manages a large portfolio of properties in the greater Toledo area. Position Summary: As an Accounts Payable Specialist at Bennett Management Corp, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable transactions for our various business units. You will be responsible for managing vendor invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records within our accounting system of record, Restaurant 365. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Accounting.
Position Responsibilities: Process vendor invoices and ensure accuracy and completeness of supporting documentation. Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure all outstanding balances are properly accounted for and resolved in a timely manner. Prepare and process weekly check runs or electronic payments in accordance with established payment terms and company policies. Investigate and resolve discrepancies or issues related to invoices and payments. Communicate effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders to address inquiries and resolve payment-related issues. Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files, including W-9 forms and other required documentation. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including accruals, account reconciliations, 1099 preparation, and audit information as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, construction, and accounting, to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Utilize analytical tools and techniques to analyze accounts payable data and identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings. Contribute to continuous process improvements and initiatives to enhance the effectiveness of the accounts payable function. Monitor current accounts payable regulations and best practices to ensure compliance. Position Requirements: Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounts payable or related finance role. Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel; knowledge of Restaurant 365 is a plus. Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with vendors and internal stakeholders. Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to think critically to resolve issues effectively. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities. Knowledge of restaurant or hospitality industry operations is a plus.
