Position Summary/Description: The Accounting Technician will report to the Center Administrator and assist in all facets of research accounting at UNC . They will collaborate directly with various groups and individuals across the university to communicate financial objectives and outcomes effectively. This role will function as a key resource in invoicing and travel processes in conjunction with an interdisciplinary team, aiming to continually improve efficiency and resource utilization.
This position is responsible for conveying university financial and travel policies and procedures to constituents across the Center and Division of GI. They will be responsible for processing all payments and pcard reconciliations as well as all travel requests and expense reports. This position will be an expert in travel policies/procedures and systems. This role is crucial in ensuring transactions are processed for the Center and Division in a timely matter to ensure accurate accounting. Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
