Job Summary: Reporting to the Controller, this Supervisor role is responsible for certain retail subsidiaries with the direct responsibility over three General Ledger Accountants.
Duties/Responsibilities: Provides accurate and timely reporting, including financial statements and reconciliations Compiling of month end close process, including, inventory management, booking journal entries and reconciliations Set and achieve month end deadlines for the team Manage and develop accounting information systems including processes and procedures "Outward facing" skills, as evidenced by a history of effective interfacing with off-site members of operations management Passion to bring projects to conclusion in an organized and timely fashion Capable of independent thinking and results-driven problem resolution Mentoring, developing and effective supervision of degreed and/or clerical staff Implements training for new hires and identifies training opportunities for current staff Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to work with high volume data and information Proficiency in Microsoft Office required, other accounting software a plus Organized, neat with strong communication skills (written and verbal) Flexible approach to accomplishing goals Positive winning attitude Strong problem-solving skills: situational awareness, options and recommendations Team oriented approach to problem solving Excellent supervisory skills Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively interact with various internal and external customers Attention to detail is imperative Keen focus on financial details, with the ability to identify and communicate trends, perform analyses, and generate informational tools to facilitate decision making Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management required 3 years' relevant experience in similar accounting and/or operations environment Supervision, including personnel evaluations, training and mentoring Able to travel to off-site locations on occasion if required Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times. Add or subtract as needed
