We are looking for an Accounting Specialist II to join our Accounting Group!

The Accounting Specialist II is responsible for supporting various accounting functions within the organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness of financial transactions and reporting. This position involves performing a variety of accounting tasks and reconciling accounts. They will work closely with the Controller and collaborate with other departments to achieve financial goals.

In this role you will:
Post daily cash receipts.
Post journal entries and ensure accuracy of account balances.
Reconcile monthly GL accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Post weekly inventory entry.
Post weekly parking tickets and execute check runs.
Process credit card payments for the Service Department.
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Assist with any various projects.
Assist with yearend audit.
Serves as backup for preparation of OCIP/CIP monthly reporting.
Serves as back up for payroll entry on field union payroll and market recovery.

A successful candidate will have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
3-5 years of related experience
Demonstrated communication skills, with the ability to interact with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
Demonstrated attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.
Ability to record financial transactions accurately and maintain financial records.
Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues from various departments.
Demonstrated understanding of cash receipt posting.
Demonstrated of general ledger entry.
Ability to follow up with vendors on outstanding invoices and reconcile accounts to ensure timely payment.
Construction industry experience – preferred but not required.
OCIP/CIP knowledge - preferred but not required.
Payroll time entry knowledge- preferred but not required.
Software Experience Necessary:

Microsoft Suite. Intermediate Excel skill required.
CMiC – preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements
Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally (Occasionally: activity or condition exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (Frequently: activity or condition exists from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
