Job Posting: Accounting Clerk I – Cash Application Specialist Type: Contract
Duration: 6 Months (with possibility of extension)
Work Schedule: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Training Schedule: 2 - 4 weeks, matching work schedule

Pay Rate: $18.25 - $22.50 per hour, depending on qualifications
Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated Accounting Clerk to serve as a Cash Application Specialist. This position involves managing a high volume of cash applications, maintaining accurate ERP accounts receivable systems, and conducting associated research and communication. The role requires close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely and precise payment processing.
Key Responsibilities: Handle cash application processes and perform necessary reconciliations daily.
Update and maintain accounts receivable documents and systems, primarily using AS400.
Engage with external contacts regarding payment queries and documentation.
Assist in payment processing setups and handle insufficient funds transactions.
Support cross-departmental collaboration to maintain workflow efficiency and compliance with SLAs.
Qualifications: High School diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.
Previous experience in cash applications highly desired.
Proficient in using AS400 or similar payment application systems.
Excellent communication skills and a strong customer service orientation.
Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
