The Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper is a key position within our organization, responsible for ensuring that all financial accounts are accurate and up to date. The Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper will perform general accounting tasks, including data entry, reconciliations, monthly closing of books, and preparing financial statements. Responsibilities also include accounts payable/accounts receivable, processing payments and receipts, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Position Overview: The Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper is responsible for providing timely and accurate financial information to the accounting team. This role will be involved in all aspects of the accounting cycle, from recording and maintaining financial information to preparing financial statements.
Key Responsibilities: Perform daily accounting tasks such as data entry, reconciliations, and closing of books. Prepare financial statements and reports. Process accounts payable/accounts receivable and ensure payments and receipts are accurate. Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Reconcile bank accounts and ensure all transactions are properly recorded. Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of information. Assist in auditing activities as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent experience. Experience in accounts payable/accounts receivable, general ledger, and data entry. Working knowledge of accounting principles and processes. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
